Moira Purver SWA
Moira Purver SWA is a figurative sculptor and established her own studio in Dorset in early 2008 and now devotes all her time to sculpture.
Elected as an Associate of the Society of Women Artists (ASWA) in May 2011, and awarded Full Membership (SWA) in May 2014. She received the America Square Conference Centre Award for the sculpture “Male Torso” at the SWA exhibition in the Mall Galleries in 2010.
In 2012, she was appointed as a trustee of the Purbeck Art Weeks Festival. This has given her a real opportunity to help with the promotion of the visual arts including the encouragement of young artists.
She also supports the work of Marie Curie Cancer Care by having bronze sculptures included in the main auction at the Marie Curie private view of the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
She has exhibited with Society of Women Artists in the Mall Galleries every year since 2009 and many well-known galleries throughout the UK. She also has outdoor sculpture trails at venues including Harold Hillier Gardens, Beaulieu, Compton Acres, Wyndcliffe Court Sculpture Gardens, RHS Wisley, The Savill Garden and Hidcote Gardens.
She is a member and exhibitor with Surrey Sculpture Society and Oxford Sculpture Group.
Her sculptures have been bought by collectors as well as from the USA, Australia, Greece, Germany, Taiwan, Canada and New Zealand.
