Domenica de Ferranti

As a sculptor, Domenica aims to create work that is tactile.  She is attracted to simple forms but also strive to provoke a deeper understanding of the subject through creating rhythms in the handling of each sculpture. She casts her work in bronze or plaster, and she is also experienced in carving marble.

 

After classical training at an atelier in Florence, she returned to the UK where she currently works.  Recently, after a successful debut solo exhibition in London, she travelled to Oman in search of inspiration. She is currently building up a body of work based on this adventure, revolving around the interesting faces and cultural differences she experienced, some of which are exhibited at the Gallery.
