Peter Moolan-Feroze
First exhibition in the UK
New digital drawings
From 12 November – 12 December 2020
Peter has recently been applying his artistic talents to the digital medium of digital drawings, which are then reproduced in very limited edition print form and beautifully framed. The Gallery has selected a number of his digital drawings for what will be his first solo exhibition in the UK.
Having attended Slade School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools, Peter explains that by adapting his traditional fine arts training to embrace digital tools, such as the iPad, he is able to ‘explore a greater range of pictorial interpretation.’ Influenced by the poerty of the early Italians such as Giotto and Masaccio and the sublime colours of Matisse, Peter describes himself as as ‘an artist who mainly focuses on the human figure, empathising with the rich range of emotions that this subject offers.’ “I’ve always been fascinated by drawing people and trying to capture a moment, an emotion or as in the picture Reflection, a relationship. I also want the pictures to be uplifting and give moments of pleasure and enjoyment.”
The contemporary arts magazine Cake said of his work: ‘The post impressionist style lingers in these colourful prints… the simple shapes conveying the fluidity of movement and shape, drawn with simple curves and lines. It’s life drawing in a moment, sketching the alive and spontaneous.’
Whilst a post graduate at the Royal Academy, Peter realised the strength of collaboration and created the RA Outreach programme. For over twenty years, he has taken creativity workshops into schools nationwide, staging exhibitions for young people to show their work at the Academy. He has also designed creative learning programmes for companies as diverse as Deutsche Bank, M & S, Unilever, McLaren Automotive and Jo Malone.
The exhibition is presented in a unique collaboration with Nic McElhatton, former Chairman of Christies London, who has described Peter’s works as having “an extraordinary talent with a unique style which synchronizes so harmoniously with this modern medium” and Peter’s brother, Jonathan Moolan-Feroze, co-founder of Sevenex Capital Partners, who from very early on believed in Peter’s unique talent.
